Description

How do those Irish manage to do it? No matter, which bands find their way to us, be it CRUACHAN, WAYLANDER, GEASA or PRIMORDIAL, all somehow are - different...

PRIMORDIAL have consequently continued to tread the path they had taken two years ago with their Hammerheart-debut "A Journey's End". With some few exceptions, the songs come over very doomey and solemn, building up a very intense atmosphere, which holds you in its thrall from the beginning and which also makes it quite difficult to categorize the Irishmen, what is a big plus on their behalf!

The only bands that you could remotely name as direction are MY DYING BRIDE, although PRIMORDIAL are not as melancholic and depressed, and BORKNAGAR in their calmer moments, but they do not reach this strange intensity...

Partly melodic, partly Black Metallic guitars meet mostly deep, theatralic clean vocals and, as a reminiscence of thir Black Metal-past, some croaky vocal-elements and are bound together tightly by slight folky influences.

The info-flyer says "PRIMORDIAL don't consider themselves as Black Metal, Celtic or Pagan band, they are simply PRIMORDIAL." I couldn't have said it better.
