INGURGITATING OBLIVION

Originally a vision instigated by Sascha (guitars) and Florian (guitars) in 1997 and after years of line-up variations, Ingurgitating Oblivion finally shaped up in their present constellation in 2007.

Between 1997 and 2000, at the outset of the project, Ingurgitating Oblivion (then, still under the monicker of "of trees and orchids") struggled to determine a particular sound and the outfit drew from inspirational sources ranging from Doom, Death, Ambient to Black Metal. Between 1997 and 2000, the 1998 "Fragmente aus dem Fließenden" and 2000 "thought-cathedral" demo were released as the band's first observations. The band no sooner released their third effort in 2001 entitled "Cadence and Perspective in Desolation" than they developed and explored a distinct lyrical as well as musical focus. As a matter of fact, it was with this release that the decision was made in favor of a clean slate beginning. And thus the band changed its name into Ingurgitating Oblivion and commenced vomiting forth their black slime.

In 2004 / 2005, Ingurgitating Oblivion engraved further appalling vistas of black, complex, intricate Death Metal entities. That year, the "Poetry of the Flesh" demo was hurled into nothingness and the outfit managed to garner a wider appreciation both nationally as well as internationally.

In 2005, the band tracked their infamous "Voyage towards Abhorrence" observation which was released by Unmatched Brutality Records / USA and helped spreading the disease. It was at this time that Christian enlisted with the band on bass and helped bringing the outfit's sound to ultimate fruition on the subtonic plain. Shortly after "Voyage (...)" had been given birth to, the then drummer departed. This void was filled by Ingo of mighty techsters Fetocide who applied some highly distinctive finishing tinges to Ingurgitating Oblivion's sonic attire.

The "Enigmatic Symmetries" demo elucidated those worthy and august individuals who were granted the honor to give it a listen in 2008/2009. "Enigmatic (...)" is a churning maelstrom of technical drums, subsonic atrocities, frantic vocal obscurities and multi-dimensional guitar atonalities. This output should be regarded as the matrix of the forthcoming Death Metal havoc to be wreaked upon those gentle masses late this year. The new album scheduled for late 2012 is bound to spawn some ulcerated Death Metal orchestrations. Hearken and despair as the portals of gut-wrenching gore will be cast open wide by these sultans of madness.

It was in 2012 that Ingurgitating Oblivion joined the noble roost of high quality bands at Willowtip / USA. And indeed, it is fair to say Ingurgitating Oblivion is proud to have teamed up with this truly forward-thinking record label! Behold, infidel thralls, 2012 is gonna be a hell of a year for sombre, arcane and evil Death Metal!!!
